I missed 4.35% by a weekend. That rate had existed with them for quite a while. I wasn't going to wait any longer, and luckily I had found the boat that fit the bill. These times for big money/long term rates may not come around again in my lifetime! It was a little bit of a comfort level reach for me...but at another point I fear the payment would have been out of reach . Move quickly my friends...;)

Good Thread! I have an application for Bank of the West in my desk. I guess I had better fill it out and send it in. Right now, I am at 5.25% fixed for 15years. If I could get some of those rates you are talking about, I could pull the trigger and get that bigger boat!:p

That is not a bad idea....however I think you have to have amenities like a head and sink in order to claim it as a second dwelling if I am not mistaken....Is this not correct??

Try Newcoast Financial and ask for Kyle Vollenweider,he was great to deal with and gives you straight info and no b.s. I have re-fied twice with them and what started out at 9.25 is now 5.75. Not sure of the # but try the web at newcoastfinancial.com Good luck

Insurance is always going to be an issue, State Farm is giving policy's that are below market value... I insured my boat with them. I'm not sure if they have figured it out yet.
