I'm not sure on the displacement- the details of this engine have been kept under wraps pretty well.
The competition is pretty stiff with these things- Suzuki just came out with a 250 4-stroke that is almost weight comparable to the 2 -strokes, and has nearly the torque too.
The 2-strokes are FAR from dead, in fact Merc, Rude, and Yammie high pressure injected engines all pass the upcoming tightest EPA and CARB regs. They have also got the fuel efficiency equal or better than the 4-strokes, and are a helluva lot lighter and faster.
The new one to watch are the E-Tec Evinrudes, which beat their previous injected engines by 30-40% in efficiency and emisssions. They run on fuel/oil mixtures as thin as 200-300:1. Not much oil usage at all! The days of the noisy, stinky 2-stroke are gone.
The new Rudes have a 7 year warranty!
