Planning a trip to 1000 islands - any tips?
Planning to trailer my 30 foot baja upto the 1000
islands this coming July
Any tips - Traveling up from New Jersey will
dump the boat in a convenient spot and then
spend about 5 days tooling around
Places to launch -
Places to eat-
places to raft up or beach/swim?
Transient slips?
Thanks, Tom

I would suggest Bonnie castle or Rivers Edge resort for a launch and acomidations. As for tooling around, try to hook up woth some members here before to show you where the hot spots are. If you tey to find them and your own, you will will hit rocks!
When the time comes, send me an E-mail, I'll hook you up with a nice tour.

definitely get some charts or local knowledge for rocks, they're everywhere and a lot are not marked. there's tons of places to launch/eat/swim - what are you interested in?
beaches, party coves, party spots on the water, both Sun 288 and myself are very familiar with the area

I suggest that you consider staying in Kingston, Ontario. There are some fantastic restaurants (Chez Piggy included), upscale inns and even cinemas for the kids within walking distance of the waterfront. There is docking right at the waterfront for nominal or no charge. Check out White Mountain Ice Cream if you go. We stayed at Riveredge in A-Bay last year and found it very over-priced for the quality of accomodation, although it is probably the best of the bunch for that area. Kingston is less than an hours cruise from Boldt Castle, so when you're touring all day the distance just becomes part of the day's trip. Have fun wherever you go.

Planning on going to the PRA 1000 Islands event this August. Where is the best place to stay? I heard the Radison would be a good choice. Best place to keep boat in the water/store trailer/ and be able to wash up boat before launch? Any help would be appreciated.
