Default Hey 105_38_2003

Didn't you say somewhere that you sometimes transport boat's???

I thought you mentioned that you sometimes put the entire Boat and Trailer on a Flat bed trailer and transport the whole thing.

How do you the a large boat, for instance my 38 Special on a flatbed with the trailer under it?? Attach the trailer like usual to the boat, then lift the boat by the lifting hook's?? I've been wondering about this for a couple of days?? What is the best way??

Depends on the boat, we use several options and always use what is the easiest for the situation. For the huge yachts we usually just hoist the shrink wrapped vessel on a lowered step deck, secure it, tarp it and move on down the road. With boats your size we would use a crane or a ramp to back it on the trailer. We have also used slings that any fiberglass or marine shop will have to load/unload. Local boats I can take to our office where we have cranes and a loading dock to load up with...I also use the warehouses off Greens RD by the airport which is where I used to store my boat and loaded a 42' Sonic with the loading dock there...It is the best way to transport because your own trailer tires never touch the highway

Depends, but usually in the $1.50-$1.60 range for OSO guys...I did a smaller boat for under a buck a mile from TX to OH that was LTL.

So you just back the semi trailer up to a loading dock, then back the boat trailer and boat onto the semi trailer?? That's cool!!

I was wondering if it was difficult to lift the boat and trailer together onto the semi trailer. I would think it would be difficult to not bend the trailer or put to much stress on the boat!!

Thanks for the info.!!!!!

We secure the boat to the hoist, then use another set of straps to secure the trailer seperately. It is really no different that transporting out utility trailers etc. We have also transported RV trailers from Indiana all over. It is really a simple process to do
