My 22 Pachanga
left today. I'm getting the Bravo drive swap done.
I feel like a mother hen. I look out the window at the dock and my boat's gone.
Good lookin beatch ain't it? Amazing how clean your hull stays when you have a boat lift.

I found out today that the AlphaSS drive is geared 1.32:1. The Bravo is 1.5. So I guess that'll slow me down some. Then again I never revved over 4800 with that SS. So maybe it'll rev higher with the Bravo, like 5000. Also wanna get rid of the 4 blade 21 pitch for a 3 blade.
Foul---Yeah, I had to DRIVE my boat to the ramp today. Cranked right up. Hauled ass doing it, too.

You can get a Bravo with a 1.36:1 ratio.... might be worth looking into. BUT, a Bravo requires a little more power to spin than an alpha. And they have a larger drag coeficient simply because they are bigger. I did the alpha to bravo swap about 8 years ago or so. Lost about 1-2 mph on the top end. Then again, my boat weighs quite a bit more than yours....
Also, look at raising your x-dimension while you have it all apart. With the higher x, you will have less drag and require less trim to get WOT. I raised my x about 5 years ago and gained about 3-4 mph (I'm guessing at this because I upped my hp at the same time for a total of about 8 mph gain). With the higher x, you will find the 4 blade will handle better and grip better when you turn.
Just some thoughts.

Gary the boat dude said the 1.36s were like 1600 buck...?
Also I traded the guy a Dart intake for an alum. oval port intake(the Dart is rect.) and he's going to chunk the not working silent choice trash for stainless 4" bent tube. With an 830 4150 Holley I oughta recover the hp loss of the Bravo I hope.

I've always liked those 22 pachangas. Just something about them really apealls to me. The cockpits look comfy and quite roomy. How big are the cuddy's? Are they 22' including the swim platform?
Good luck on your upgrades.
