Tom Earhart- I want to know more about that B-max-blackhawk drive. How did you do it? Why not use a bravo 3 lower with a nosecone added- wouldn't that be easier? Any pictures?

Since I would have to shell out big bucks for a drive it is looking like I need to go big inch N/A.

Forgot about Carson, I heard he is very good with Turbo engines. He has a nice older 38 Larry Smith flatdeck too.
As much as I love turbo engines, I would go large cube N/A and have fun. No troubles. That 22 Scarab will be extremely unstable at anything above 80mph, in my opinion. They weren't designed for that speed. You can make it go that fast (just add power) but I wouldn't ride in it. Some boats were designed for that so upgrade your boat if you really want to go that fast. Maybe a small older cat or something. 25 Talon would be awesome. Good luck |
Bmax-Blackhawk
Cobra Marty - I used the Black Hawk for serveral reasons, first is my boat is a 24' Eliminator that dosn't have any transome height so I need the short 13.5 distance between input and output shafts, second I have two black hawks that I used to try to keep running,
and third I have a complete selection of black hawk props. Your boat could handle a much taller drive then mine, so the bravo three might work for you. My boat was much faster and easier to drive with the black hawk, I think having the prop shaft 3" above the water line and the elimination of steering torque are the big reasons. I will be posting some pictures so as I get it all painted and the new decals on it. Thanks for your interest, Tom |
