Keep your drinks cold on a hot day...great product

I am in college and am posed with a project/problem. THis company president came to my teacher, and said could u help me market and sell this product or else we are going under. This product is perfect for the boating world. It keep your drink really cold, and is great fro promotion for your company, as you can customize and print your company logo on it. I wanted to just throw this out there and get a reaction to your thoughts and if you would actually buy this product. Also who i should target for sales. any input would be great

another great thing is that this company is a not for profit organization. It is called Employ+Ability. It has 52 employees and 48 of the employees are disabled...blind, deaf, missing limbs, etc... and these people are working instead of sitting at home collecting government checks and eating up your tax dollars. I feel this is a great product ultimately supporting a great cause.

here's the company website

again thanks for any input/help

I've got a larger one of those to fit a wine bottle, and it works very well.

About 20 years ago, I bought six "Freeze Sleeves". They are a hard plastic shell with an inner sleeve. In between the two is some of the "blue stuff" fluid that you see in stay-cold packs, etc. If you keep these things frozen, you can take a warm can or bottle, and will will chill it down and keep it cold for about and hour. I have never seen them again since I bought my first set.

These new ones might be even better since they collapse down and take up less space.

Ship me some and I will run them through an EXTREME TEST in Miami. :D :D

I would be interested to know how long it stays frozen for on a 90 degree day.

the company says it will keep a drink cold for 1 hour in direct sunlight...which if true would be amazing

BigSilverCat 02-05-2004 12:52 PM

i can sit a can of coke outside right now in direct sunlight and it will get colder then the fridge, but then you will have to dig it out of the snow that builds up around it.

Only problem I see...its one or two times used and done...who is gonna keep frreezin these things over and over for use out on the boat. I dont want to have to remeber to get these out of the freezer before I head out.
Its hard enough keeping tract of your Koozie at the lake now, let alone having to keep tract of these bulky things you paid money for.
...Does not have any use for me on a boat..does not last all day.
....Its too bulky.
....Its not a feel good in your hand product like a nice squishy Can koozie
...Too much work to use it...freeze it, keep it in cooler, use it, it melts, works for only a few drinks....
..too much work to store it when its wet and soggy and warmed up. Then you gotta remember to put it back in the freezer
...this is a tough sell to anyone besides the guy going from the Kitchen to the Hammock in the back yard.

Good luck on your project, sounds like a tough one..

not being negative, just pointing out some potential pitfalls

Thanks for the tip. Have left amessage with them. Sounds like a good cause and we might be able to sell some of them.

Being realistic, if you have 4 people on a boat for an eight hour day you'd have to take 32 of these things with you to keep the cans cold. Just not worth the effort.

CSpray, I had some of those. Same reason as above, I no longer use them. Too much of a hassle.
