Tyler 502 Mod's Hot Boat?
 

Was the artical where Tyler did some mod's to a 502 to get an extra 100 hp out of it. Thought it was acouple of years ago. I think the base line on motor was 390 hp after was 490 Hp.

Does anyone remember what issue it was in? Or can it be found online somewhere?

russ talked to tyler on that set up but he also has a kit that gets 510 pshp and another that gets 575 pshp and for not much more $$$. i already have exhaust and k+n air filter and adj. fuel reg so that cuts down the cost quite abit.

Does anyone else know what Tyler does to get the 510 and the 575 besides what he did in the artical?
Head work?
After market heads?
Different cam?
Someones got to know?

For some reason, Tyler uses Cam Motion camshafts. Anyone know anything about these?

Purchased a boat last season with Tyler Crockett
engines in it.
The owner took me to Tyler's shop and had him
explain what was done to the engines which were
origanally HP500's:

1.Brodix heads CNC'd to Tyler's specs
2.Holley 780cfm modified and flowed out to 830cfm
3.Camshaft and pushrod change
4.MSD distributor,ignition and rev limiter
5.Adjustable timming chain

Dyno'd out at 588HP @ 5600rpm

My experience with Cam Motion has been very positive. They are more open to doing development work than most large cam companies and will spend the time to put together a profile thats application specific. They work from a master lobe list, there are no "shelf grinds" in their catalog. I just had them do a marine sbc cam for us and was very satisfied with the detail in their approach.
