Normally there is a lot less ice. Can't wait to get the cover off the boat again.

Yep, had to walk down and take a closer look. It is almost up to the bottom of the cavitation plate.
That can't be good. Normally that drive is at least 1-2 feet above the water, but I think they had a lot of snow on the roof and push the docks down long enough till they froze underwater. Kinda wonder what is going to happen once things start thawing. I think the dock will try to comeback up before the ice melts away from that outdrive. Either the drive will bust, or the drive will bust.

Troutly, I thougt about leaving it in the down position, but seen them done both ways.

Not to say what kind of damage the lifts are going to have.

Exactly. We skated from all the way across. It's the Shrewsbury River (Pleasure Bay).

That's my fear. The geometery of the arms, tiebar and the mounts does not allow for how they are right now.

Truly amazing, I guess I will never realize what really cold weather is like. That pic in post 15 actually would make a good picture for the wall.

Why not run an ice eater? The ice compressing on the fiberglass floats can't be good either.

Yes that is ICE, and yes the ends of the dock fingers are 1' under the ice. I 'think' the marina made a boo boo. The lift is under tremendous amount of strain since it is SUPPOSED to be parallel with the dock.
I think about going boating everyday!!!!!!!!!

Hope everything thaws for you without any damage.
