Air Bags...Done.
Just installed air bags on the X. It is a Ride-Rite system with Firestone bags. They put together a pretty good kit
but did not tell you about the fuel lines in the way,the brake lines were so close to brackets that they touched, I bent them away but it I had not done this they would have a hole in them in days, and the bolts were a million miles long, lucky I had air or I would still be out there. Now the snowmobile trailer and the future (spring) boat will be even more stable. I also hual a dump trailer and a large Uniloader to the UP to clear a lot and hual gravel to a road I am building and need the extra to keep the truck from squating.

My system is different from any I have seen. Mine attaches to the frame on top but sits on the axle instead of the spring pack. I don't have the distance the SD PUs have and I have a fender skirt that hides the undercarriage. It still does the job though. I have a 3" lift and it worked perfect. Mine fit as it sits which I like, if it was compressed I would get more heigth which I don't want, now I get very little lift. No drilling and I didn't even jack it up or take off the tires. man, I got a face full of sand every time I reached up. I had goggles on so it missed my eyes. next week comes the chip and air cleaner that I ordered from boot

I too have them, and also did on the prior truck. I had to grind away the corner of the heat shield bolted to the shock brackets on the passenger side to make the airbag bracket fit. Sounds like they redesigned the kit for the Excursions since I got mine last year, and they needed to.

I have a system on my Dodge too. Works great. Only problem is the bracket hits the spring shackle. This happens when the truck is lightly loaded, the bags are not inflated and I hit a good sized bump. I need to trim the bracket slightly so there is a little more suspension travel.
Mitch-if you ever want to sell that dump trailer, I'd be looking for one.

$250 + tax and I did it myself because I never let anyone touch my truck unless I am under there with them. Plus I did some changes and went a little farther than the kit called for so everything was done right. It took me about 4 hours but that included stopping to eat dinner.
