Progressive Insurance
insurance agent told me today that progressive stopped writing boat policys in october 2003 except for exiting customers. anyone else know anything about this?
they are/were one of the few big companys left covering performance boats

I thought they just started doing boats. They sent me a price of 4800 a year for my Sonic about a year ago, I have them for my cars and told them to give me a price. I use Total Dollar they are about 1k cheaper with a better policy.

ive talked to Bob before. great guy!! he gave me a quote on the other Apache i tryed to buy and it was better then anyone else at the time.
the only reason i havent called him yet is because some local boating buddys recommended a local american family agent where i could save some money.
ill probably call Bob in the morning......

Very happy with what I got!
I was told that they don't have the coverage in every state yet for over 70 MPH, but were working on it.
Call Bob.

I have mine with State Farm.... My father in law is my agent. Who ever you have your boat with STICK WITH IT!!! He said soon we will not be able to insure boats over 70 MPH.
Make sure you keep it insured year round if your in the north they do not have to re-insure you the next season.
A company may step up to underwrite them but it's going to be difficult and expensive. He said it's his guess it will get WAY out of line before or if it gets better.
As for giving them a BS job and saying it's a cruiser they may take your money but they will not pay your claim.
