Default First Year Depreciation

Was reading my new Powerboat last night with the test of the 36 Nortech Cat. Awesome boat. Article lists the as-tested price at just over $600,000. Two pages away is an ad listing it as now for sale at just under $450,000. $150,000 depreciation in a year has just GOT to get your attention. At that rate in 4 years it should be FREE ... I'll get a space ready for it at my dock

20-30% first year and 8-10% each year thereafter is the norm.

Your are assuming he paid retail for the boat.

If he got 20% off list price, then he only paid $480K.
