No,you took it the wrong way, He was saying that he thought it was a good price but you have to think it is a older boat, nothing wrong with that, in fact Formula is probably one of the boats you can still buy that wont fall apart with some age. Keep the match's away from the boat for now.

If you look at 336's in Boattrader, most are asking in the 70's-80's. The only one cheaper than this is a 92 with 330's for 57K. I wouldn't say it's an absolute steal, but a pretty good price and it would be better if it wasn't salty and had a trailer.
I bought the exact same boat last spring but with 500's and a trailer and love it. I would probably love a 353 Fastech better, but not for double the price for a decent used one. I guess anything more than a couple years old will be dated to somebody, but I've gotten nothing but compliments on mine. To each his own, i guess. Other than having the stepped hull and an extra 5 or 6 mph for the same price, I couldn't be happier with it. |
What people are asking and what boats are selling for are two totally different things. A lot of people are asking WAY above the actual value of their boats based on what they OWE on the boat and not the value. Check BUC or Blue Book. Most boats that are selling are selling at LOW NADA for boats in great shape. Some are even lower than that. Makes it harder to look for a boat when so many people are upside down in them. The hi-performance boat market is in the dumper for sellers and great for buyers if the owner is willing to take the hit on their boat and sell at the actual market value.
