The answer is no, the 2005 will not have the Duramax. I have a friend that works at GM powertrain. The floorpan on the Sub./Av. would have to be completely redone ala the the HD. That means altering the frame, etc, etc. big $ in tooling.

I heard that same reasoning when the D-Max came out. The Allision tranny will not fit under the current burb frame.

I highly doubt they will change the framing for that combo only because it is probably a low seller compared to the gas.

The Sub won't get it because their glorified grocery getter driven by a soccer mom would just put gas in it anyway After 30 years with a diesel, they caved to the soccer mom. In case you don't think I am qualified to say this I drive an 03 PSD Excursion

That looks just like the POS Ford just bought back from us.

BTW: Nice vehicle, hopefully your works better than our did.

It seems I heard (don't you love these rumors ) that they would offer the duramax with a 4L80E trans. However, I wonder if they would de-rate the hp/torque.
Just a totally unsubstantiated rumor put forth by someone who really has no idea what is going on at GM. Not that GM knows either....
