Good Digital Camera

What is a good digital camera. Everywhere I go nobody knows nothing about anything. So I turn to the OSO team.

I'm no expert but I know there is a really good buyers guide on magazine racks. Last week I was thumbing through it at Wallmart. I have a Fujifilm A310 I've had it a couple of months and so far so good.:)

What's your price range?

Get the most Megapixals you can afford.
Get the most optical zoom you can afford.
Don't even consider digital Zoom as something useful.

I like my Nikon Coolpix 5700. But for the same money (about 1G) the new Cannon Rebel is real nice too.

Lower budget? Look at Sony. Oh and if you want to record a one minute movie, make sure it has a microphone. A playback speaker is a plus.

Olympus makes a pretty good camera I bought the olympus stylus 300 digital its the "all weather" version they say that it is waterproof just short of dropping it in the water. its also has a metal case for extra durability.
oh its the 3.2 mp also I think it was about 400 or 500 dollars.

I bought a Sony 828 for myself for Christmas. It is a 8 mp which may be overkill but it was a good deal and a sweet camera. I think I paid about 9 for it.

I have the Sony DSC-F717. I did a lot of research before I bought. I can't say enough positive things about this camera. You have to work very hard to create a bad picture with it. The one down-fall of this model is also what makes it better than most others... the incredible Zess lens. The lens is larger than others so it's not something you can throw in your pocket. If size is no concern, go with this camera... you wont be sorry. It's a professional grade camera that's also very user friendly. ;)

The 828 wasn't on the market when I bought mine... looks like it's worth looking into, but I don't know anything about it.

Happy shopping.

A friend passed this bit of wisdom along: To avoid shutter delay, buy an SLR digital camera. Seems they have the better insides, and can process the picture faster.

We've got a nice pocket dig camera, and taking action shots is difficult. I have a few pictures of background because the object left the frame before the camera took the picture. But it's great for still shots.
