Bimini
I've seen them on larger boats too. I just don't have any pictures. Heck, my boat an Advantage 34 Offshore has one. I live in Phoenix, AZ and it's not an option...it's a requirement.

A friend of mine has a scarab with the fairing and he had a full enclosed bimini made for it. It has a clear plastic windshield that snaps on to the fairing and clear side curtains. Not the most attractive thing when its up but it got us out on the lake really early last spring, and not to mention makes the cockpit usable when overnighting. Dont bust my balls here but any opinions on having one of those made to fit a cafe? What if it was'nt made so tall and kinda patterened after a canopied race boat.

A track is nice
but it isn't necessary.
As for the Cafe, I say go for it. If that bimini with full enclosure gets you on the water more often; what are ya waitin for?
Besides, you don't have to leave it on the boat at all times. And the mounts are small and unobtrusive. Take the bimini off and store it in the garage...it aint hard to do.

Also, I had one of those pop up umbrellas. It was great all the way up until the first breeze bent one of the umbrellas stays (sp) and it collapsed. Make sure all the hardware is heavy duty.
