In my 288 I kept a large tupperware style box with the snap on lid bungee'd to the starboard deck area next to the engine. I kept two anchors in there. The standard and the box. I never bothered to fold mine up making for a quick entry and retrieval. I rarely use my standard one unless I'm hooking up in a strong tidal current. Otherwise box all the way and usually off the stern cleat.

I have two Box Anchors for our Gun. They came with bags, but they are kind of a pain in the a$$ to get them in the bag along with the attached rope. I might try a larger bag like you did.

BTW: The bags the anchors come with sink fast if they fall in the water:rolleyes: ;)

It's too late for that, Don Juan. The word is out and the line of ladies is looooong.

Could you guys tell me if the medium size box anchor
will fit in the gun wales of the 358 or where the best place to store the anchor would be ?

Sydwayz 03-06-2004 01:37 AM

Best place is under the back seat, I have found, just like pictured above in my 26 Sonic. I am not sure if you have room under there in a 358 though.

Getting it in and out of the gunwhale compartment is going to be a *****. Its just heavy. You will come up with something when you buy the anchor, and get your own system going... no better anchor.

What size anchor are you guys using? Would I need to go to the Xlarge for a 35'?

They call them small, large, and extra large. I think the large would hold you just fine, and extra only if you want to be damn overly sure, or overnight with it as your single anchor. I do not overnight with one anchor.
