I was at the factory on the 16th. We walked right in the factory and was looking around like we owned the joint and nobody bothered us. It was pretty quiet. I really liked the 67 vette!

I've dealt with both Jay & Richard. Actually I purchase a sonic from Jay in spite of Jay. He was terrible--10 weeks later than promised- Jay, How's the boat coming? "It's Coming". My dealings with Richard nothing but positive . I picked my boat up from sonic at the boat show everything fixed, all cleaned up.. I have alot of confidence in sonic's future.

Was there about a month ago with Vagrant , we were not aloud to go and look ,there was nobody available to answer questions or show us around ?

Let me tell you ,we went down to Pantera right after that and we where greeted like royalty ! Jo showed us everything , he didn't have anything to hide !!

After that experience vagrant and I agreed that if we where in the market for a new boat ,Sonic was not getting our check that day !! Pantera was !!!!!

Just my .02 cents

One thing to keep in mind is these factory's are still businesses. If there is nobody there to show you around then your not gonna see. There's not many factory's out there that you just show up at the door and say "let me in" and they will. But as far as showing up and saying "I want to see my boat" If they told me NO, It would take the cops to get me out of there.

If I was going to spend $500 to fly and see my boat, I'd of called ahead of time to make sure someone was there.

Most auto repair shops don't let you in for liability reasons, so I don't see the issue here.

unfortunally, you can't really compare this situtation to a auto repair shop....

Most have signs, but if you have a car in there, you can really get in if they care....

Yes Lobsterboy and I went to Sonic unannounced. Here is my 2 cents. The day that we went to Sonic was the day that everyone but the secretary went to confirm the merger with Dakota. No one was able to answer any questions that we had. So I went back the next day when everyone was there and had a pleasant meeting with Richard ,Bruce and Rusty. We were able to go to anywhere in the plant that we wanted and they spent the time with us and answered our questions. But I have to be honest , if I was in the market to buy a boat, the first impression was not a very good . I realize that we came unannounced but it surprised me that no one was left there that knew about Sonic boats. I have been to other boating company's unannounced when I was in the market for a boat and had different results. Bottom line is I would not be afraid to buy from Sonic just make sure they know you are coming.

Thanks for clarifying this. Maybe I read the forst post wrong as I thought you never got in to see your boat. Sounds like they made up for it the next day so in this case I can't really don't see fault with Sonic or you. Just maybe a lesson learned for both...call ahead and leave someone at the plant to answer questions.
