Can you say "transom rot"?
Leaving any boat in the water won't kill it, but you're surely shortening it's life span IMHO.

All interesting answers... I know up here most people leave their boats in the water all season and get just a slight film on the bottom. This is a pic of my dock at the lake - in front of my house - boat goes right in the middle slip for the season, typical for up here. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity, something I always wondered... Of course I could always drag my a$$ to LOTO and find out for myself!? :D :D

Dothemath, Its the same deal in Lake George N.Y
most people leave thier boats in the water all season.
There are very few boat lifts here. And if you want
one you have to get a permit & meet all the setbacks.
