Costs to suck it out fluctuate as well, depending on current prices. If prices are high, rig counts go up, more exploration all equal higher drilling costs.

If prices are low, low rig count, yadda yadda

It went all the way up to .60 cents a gallon.... "outrageous!!! "everyone said.... how dare those "towel heads" do this to us!... guess what the cost of oil by the barrel is today.... $35.80.... so..... where is the difference in cost between the cost of crude oil and gasoline?.... it isn't going to the OPEC countries.... it's going to the oil companies... When you factor in inflation... the cost of the crude is half the price... and yet the cost of gasoline is triple.... go figure... The oil companies have lots of excuses... here in California the excuse is "we have to make 'boutique' gasoline to meet the smog requirements."Plus here in California gasoline has become a "cash cow" to levy taxes upon. So we get it double here.....
You are right, but the cost to refine has increased a LOT.

Just like everything else. I bought a loaded 1973 Chevy Monte Carlo in 1973 for $3500.00 NEW.
My last truck was $43,000.

Unfornuately we will look back one day and wish prices were still $1.89 per gallon!

We can only hope our income keeps up with it!

The price of oil and the increase in cost of living is not following the salaries that are being paid to workers in the US.

In my field the average salary had decreased 10-15% from about 3 years ago. If normal cost of living increases were given, the price at the pump may be a little easier to deal with. In my opinion I think this is a big part of the problem!

Those Camel Jocky Towel Heads are the problem plain and simple!
