Check the fuses
On the LT1 Camaros there is a fuse for the ignition system. Check to see if there is (or was at any time) coolant coming out of the weep hole on the bottom of the water pump. If there are any marks on the bottom of the water pump you can be fairly sure that the trigger in the Opti-Spark went bad. The 93-94 LT1s were real bad about the water pump leaking and getting the Opti-Spark wet. In 95 they changed over to a vented Opti-Spark to "help" correct this problem. Have you scanned the ECM to see if there are any codes stored in it. If it wont start it will usually throw a LOW RESOLUTION FAILURE code, but even if there isn't a code stored it can still be bad. There are two triggers in the Opti-Spark, a low resolution and a high resolution. The HIGH RES code usually wont stop the car from running. You'll also want to check and see if the coil has a signal going into it, this can be done with a test light on the small wires going into the coil. When you probe the +12V side of the coil with the wire on the test light grounded the test light should light up. When you probe the other wire (in the same plug) with the wire on the test light connected to +12V and crank the engine it should pulse. If it doesn't pulse then it would point to either the ignition module or Opti Spark. If you have any questions feel free to email me Jeff-Thunder Performance
