Talking Powerboat Magazine Test question

Recently a 32' Boat with t-900 HP customs engines and a deadrise of 16 degrees/beam 8'6" went 102.5 on radar...hull weight only 3,850 lbs...not gonna mention the Brand.....cost $220,990

they called it an acceleration monster.....April Powerboat

...good thing "Simon from "American Idol" dosen't test boats...

when I looked at the weight to Horsepower ratio and only 16 degree deadrise with 1800HP I said man..."balls the size of church bells" to tag it full bore..figuring it would go 200mph....

anyone see the article..??

we have seen "chilled" 575's on a 35'er do 130+ RECENTLY..

ANYONE READ THE ARTICLE?

I guess they have to come up with something nice to say about any boat tested.

Is that code for "doesn't handle well at speed" ... they said something similar about the 32' Sun with big power.

IT DID HAVE A 30 PITCH PROP....NOW THAT I LOOK A BIT CLOSER.....If someone sent me a 32' boat with the above specs and a 30 pitch prop to test with 1800 HP that weighed under 4,000 pounds I would wonder why do it?...I mean if you drop 1800 HP in a 46' Rough Rider Cig you will do 102mph or better....right?

....guess like they said it "was an accelation monster" nice kind gentle words that are true...but....I think top spedd when I see 1800 HP not just acceleration...I say put on 40 pitch props and velcro them guys to the seats with the throttles set to "go"

....some of us rely on these tests...
