Default Scarab 38 KV

I am interested in knowing what different options were available for the 86 Scarabs. Was there an option for a better stringer system "HP" code, and were the hulls kevlar or fiberglass. I would like to know as much as possible about these boats. Can anyone help?

GLH,
What speeds is he seeing with that setup?

Any idea what the boat weighs?

I've always loved the lines of those boats.

That boat looks great I'd say he gets around 65 in fresh water.
Weight eventough it's kevlar has to be all there, he has a fridge full cabin and so forth.
He's had it for about 6 or 7 years and spends every week end on it.
We usually cruise around at 50-55 so top speed is not much of an issue wherever we go.
He was used to beiing the big dog size wise on our lake but some jerk from Vermont bought a Tiger so now I don't know what he'll do, his little wheels are turning however.
I didn't help his cause when I let him drive our rig for an hour in the Gulf between Marathon and Islmorada! The little squirls in his head where spinning doing mathematics!!

So his boat probably weighs about 10,500 loaded up on the water given the power and speed.

I have to agree with you on the reliability issue... I seem to recall a story about a tortoise and a hare.

Hey GLH -

That's not the Scarab that Dave bought after he sold my Formula 357 to Dan is it?

I don't know where it's from but he's in Montreal boats on Lake Champlain and he bought it from a guy that was also in Canada 6 or 7 years ago.
