finally for those who prefer something NEW...instaed of Huey helicopter engines that are 40 years old...I talked to a compnay rep who said they had placed ONE in a large offshore boat 47' wouldn't say brand name...it was "tuned" to make 3500HP...boat went 145mph...proviously t-800s pushed the boat mid 90's...test done in Britian with a US make and model boat...0-100 in under a minute...a wicked engine folks

Um, not to burst your bubble or anything, but there is no f'ing way that motor was put in a 47' boat. No way, no how. The spec sheet lists it as 6,200 kg *dry* - that's over 13,000 lbs!!! And 22,000 kg dressed with options - 48,000 lbs.

Too big even for an Apache! :D

ok...here is a smaller jet engine!

LPA2106 03-21-2004 11:37 AM

the MT 30 is the largest of 4 engines they will have...but the technology is soon to follow for a smaller craft...like a 61' Magnum....the pic above is a demo of a simple jet being tested by a guy with a leaf blower....just shows how a few drops of fule with lots of air makes a huge amount of thrust....don't try it at home
