Is it just the image, or is there a flat spot on the end of the vane?

It's just the image...I saw what you were talking about and had to go back and look for myself.

Everything looks to be perfect, but I'm just not satisfied with that. Something cause it to lockup!

mine blew apart and I have the vanes all jammed up

that's strange

thought you said the fuel pump was not on the same belt? i guess the motor had enough fuel to fire and run briefly?

Well, I couldn't remember for sure at the time...I was too worried about getting towed in. And yes, I only ran it for a second.

Is the fuel pump locked up and causing the seawater pump to sieze?

Steve_H 03-29-2004 06:55 PM

are you sure it was the impeller that locked up?
power stearing maybe? does everything else turn ok by hand with the belts off?

No, the whole assembly rotates smooth and free.

Yes, everything else is rotating just fine. The 500 has just the one belt and it was pretty obvious where it was dragging.
