Who's Synthetic oil does Wal Mart package?
It sure is priced well and it's API certified. Seems if your doing a lot of oil changes it might be the way to go.

It is a mixture of the blood and profits they are squeezing out of their suppliers...
Since neither are truly based on crude oil (although crude indeed), it is called synthetic.

I did a lot of research and the bottom line is WM buys where it gets the best prices; distributers change from time to time...so who knows for sure
..Mobil1; Amsoil; Redline; RP are PAO's
..so a question would be if it were a "hardcracked" derived synthetic...as many brands are and fully synthetic and API cert...the only differentiation would be
if you wanted a PAO vs. Hardcracked derived synthetic..
and then what additives are used...
I just bought RP was $4.95/qt good "condensation fighters" added in seemed like a good decision...extra tenacity is what it is known for...
...I think bobtheoilman...said hardcracked derived products are still better than conventionals...they are synthetics by defination as well..
..I would use it in my car...in our newly rebuilt HP500's... RP for me
