Ot-Government Wants To Charge Us For Emails
Well the government has come up with a new way to get it's hands in our pockets.
This is a true one. Get on the horn and stop this, time IS NOT ON OUR SIDE.
House of Representatives Bill HR602P is a House of Representatives bill quietly introduced so the Post Office will receive five cents for every email you send. Your Internet Service Provider would bill you each month? One Congressman (Tony Schnell) has even suggested a $ 20.00 to $ 40.00 per month SURCHARGE which would be in addition to the five cents per email to the post office. Please contact your congressman (and all your friends) AND SAY NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's funny...I thought I was ALREADY paying $45 a month for high speed internet access, which includes e-mail. Seems to me the government's cut of that would be found in Roadrunner's taxable income.

Nick, thanks for bringing that up. I got a call from a cousin who is Chief of Staff for a New York State Congressman and she is the one who told me about it. I am going to call her tonight and ask her to explain. I have already forwarded your post to her and asked her what's up. I wonder if someone is actually trying to get this through. Personally, I wouldn't doubt it for a minute. Again, thanks. The power of OSO is unreal.

The current warnings may be a hoax, but "Bill" and others are looking for some way to get their hands on $$$ from the wide proliferation of e-mail. I'm sure they will make many attempts at fees/taxes/whatever since they abhore anyone actually getting something "free" .
