Briggs and Straten? I say whatever it is it will be beat. That and the fact that no none can aford these motors or the 1 minute rebuilds that come with it. Hell, the Space Shuttle goes 17,000 mph, you don't see anyone trying to beat that I t is all a joke, do you really think those that boat on a regular basis would want a boat the needs to be torn down every run? Do you think people will buy a boat because it is the fastest...there may be 100 or so in the US that could even afford it and the hassle of reliability and rebuilds would discourage them after one blown engine and drive. Give it up guys, you are only impressing yourself.

MitchStellin: Voice of Reason...but has no audience in the world of speed records. Inquiring minds still want to know, whose engines, how much HP, how fast. Braggin' rights do sell product in this business.

....i'd go with...... The pair of Mercury Racing HP1075 SCi engines are brand-new and the most powerful ever unleashed by this dairy-state water shredder. Based on a high-performance 557-cu.-in. V8, these 1075-hp monsters each boast two screw-type Lysholm blowers and multiport fuel injection with two injectors per cylinder. Unlike other hi-po big blocks, these engines are *****cats during docking chores, idling down to 800 rpm, and they're virtually stallproof when shifting between forward and reverse. To play poker run with American Muscle as your hand, you'll have to ante up 900 grand.

Hi Tom, I like to see good competition also and speed records and big power. I was just saying is this something the consumer can obtain and maintenance?

speed records should be done using standard engine config's. see who can make the fastest 38' boat with twin 525's or twin 575's, the tweaking of the hull is much more impressive than stuffing obserd hp under the hatch...that just shows he has the deeper pockets and wants to show it off....so tweak the hulls and leave the big hp aside
