fuel/water seperator relocation

So I went to replace the stock Merc fuel/water seperator filters with the Racorp units with the drain bowl. Problem: won't fit in the stock location because of hitting the fuel pump. So I came up with the simple idea of just moving the bracket about two inches further away from the stock position. As the bracket "nuts" to two threaded posts, I just went down to the local machine shop and had four stainless "threaded connectors" milled (they really look cool) so now I'll just thread the connectors on the original posts, then bolt the filter bracket to the connectors. Easily accessible and the only other thing I had to do was replace the metal fuel line from the fuel pump to the filter with some adaptors and fuel line hose. Overall went very smooth, except the machine shop charged me a hundred bucks for the four couplings which I thought was a little steep. Shoulda told him it was for a garden tractor and probably would've charged me fifty bucks. Oughta work out though and it doesn't look like a jury rig deal. Hopefully Sunday will find out for sure.
