I am not a good person to ask that since I don't have a trailer. Others here have used it while their boat was on the trailer and would be better equipped to answer.
What I can tell you is that it doesn't drip since you wipe it on (it has the consistency of liquid soap/gel) with a damp rag so it does not drip. After 5-10 minutes you just spray off and be sure to rinse well. It should not affect a trailer since it will really not be on one.
I have used in on stainless where it meets the fiberlgass and rub rail to remove rust and other stainds before but I don't recommend leaving in on metal for more than a minute for so since it may slightly damage it if left on for long periods. Hope that helps.

I can tell you that it was orinigally formulated to use on pool scum lines on tile and fiberglass and it does not throw the pool chemical balance off so it can't be too acidic. I've used it without gloves and have had no problems or issues... Sorry I can't be of more help.
