If FERRARI were to ever build a powerboat!
If Ferrari were to ever build a powerboat this would be it! My business partner decided to undertake a massive project earlier this year and had his new 2003 Donzi ZR completely redone. As if a '03 boat needed to be redone! I told him he was an idiot and even more so when he told me what he was planning to do!
He has this thing about red cars, red trucks, and now a RED boat! His idea - which sounded ridiculous to me - was to repaint his entire boat RED, remove the rub rail and replace it with a polished stainless rail, and change the bezels from flat silver to polished. A red boat with a red interior. It sounded like it was going to be something more at home in the RED light district!!
Anyway, after months in the shop, endless hours of rubbing, and multiple coast of paint and clear - the boat made its debut in Lake Havasu last weekend. You could not believe the attention it got. It looked so much like a Ferrari on the water that my partner decided to carry the "image" one step further. He had a Ferrari logo sticker made with the name "Donzi" in it. He plans to remove it but it was great in Havasu as every third person had to ask "when did Ferrari start making powerboats?"
Enjoy the pics - the boat looks 10 times as incredible in person (as long as you like RED)! I used to tell my partner that the only taste he had was in his mouth! He certainly proved me worng this time!

Jeff, that boat did look unreal. Every Dego on the dock had a salty little tear rolling down there cheek at the site.
Ferrari did build a boat in the late 90's with Riva. It had two marinized Ferrari Engines and a big ugly black wing. They were about 30 feet long and ran 55mph.
One last question, what does this quote really mean?
C'mon man, I know this is your site, but can we keep it PG-13?
