In regards to the "bounce" ...Eliminator has changed the bottom of the 33' more than once from what I understand, to adress this problem.

This is what I'm discovering. I'm wondering if there is a fix to the problem. For the price they're askig for this boat, Eliminator will not put any more money into it without raising the price accordingly. :(

Does it have #5 drives? If so, it probably was the boat that Sea Ya saw in Columbus. That boat was originally rigged in Columbus with Bravos and then #5s. The owner had the bulkhead moved forward at the factory for increased engine space. The owner was very particular about every detail of the boat. That boat had a bounce problem at one time, but I don't know if it was fixed or not. I have seen other 33's that run flat.

I believe when it had the bravos and 572na or 600na inch motors, it ran in the 115 - 120 range.

It had a really nice aluminum trailer under it and I am surprised it has a new one.

The 33 Daytona my dealer had with 500's and boxes ran a consisently in the 95-98mph range. He never said anything about it porpoising.

more correct info from rbtnt. It must have had some incredible midrange throttle with those small wheels. :D That boat is a '98 correct? I went out in a 33' w 502EFI's and straight Bravos then, that ran damn near 80 in a nasty 4'-5' shallow lake chop. I almost bought one. There were one/two later incarnations of the 33', I believe, with faster, better handling bottoms. I think Eliminator really struggled with bottom layout and CG on the 33' Daytona. rbtnt, Yes, this is the boat that did have bravos, and now has #5's on it. They also mentioned the rear bulkhead/seat being moved forward for the bigger engines, which limits cockpit space for such a big boat.

I too am thinking it is a cg problem, especially with the big arse motors sitting in the rear. There is a tunnel tab on the boat, which helps it roll over when coming on plane. Perhaps what it needs is a bit of down tab when at speed to keep the nose down??? Your right, the midrange was incredible! From 30 to warp speeds in no time flat!!!

I'm sure this all can be resolved by some seat time in the boat. If I'm lucky enough to talk with the previous owner, he may be able to shed some light on the handling characteristics of this boat and answer any concerns I have about propping it. Now, it's just about the money... :eek:

I think they worked on the air horns and the notches in the back on that boat.

I have a friend with a 33 Daytona with 572 blower motors and #6s, it runs ~ 140 anytime he wants. This boat has never bounced.
