Formula 271/ Fountain 27........
Wanted to know who has either of these boats with a 502EFI and whipple or procharger?
How fast? How's it idle around docks?
Need your input. Thanks.
Also what was the top speed before and after supercharging? Thanks.

I've got a 2000 271 Formula with the 502efi. It runs a solid 65mph top end on the gps. When I bought it I looked at the 27 Fountain with the same power. If memory serves it ran about 68 on the gps. I don't have any experiance with superchargers, but seems like I've heard somewhere on the board about a 271 with a whipple that was running around 75mph, but that's just my memory and I could be totally off.
Good Luck and BTW my 271's for sale if your interested.

Been in both and driven both, Formula is a little bigger and will ride smoother, The Fountain will run at least 4mph faster WOT, I had a 1998 Fever 27 with 502 415 hp, ran 69-71 depending on load.
I will note if you are looking to put a blower/supercharger on it you will be rebuilding that motor every 70 hours ( I don't care what people say you will). You will be better off buying a boat with the 500efi 0r 525.
Good luck you can't go wrong with either.
