Kicker 600.4 Amp?
I bought a Kicker 600.4 amp from my brother. I would like to put it in the boat, but I'm not sure what it can handle. Can this amp handle running 2 subs off 2 channels and off the other 2 channels - four 6 1/2 inch 2 way speakers?
Here are the specs of the amp: 2-, 3-, or 4-channel output Tri-Way capable 75 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms 150 watts x 4 at 2 ohms 300 watts x 2 in bridged mode 600 watts x 2 Peak speaker- and preamp-level inputs front and rear high-pass/low-pass crossovers (variable 50-200 Hz, 12 dB per octave) front/rear bass boost (0-18 dB at 40 Hz) remote gain control with 25-foot cable frequency response 20-20,000 Hz requires 4-gauge power and ground leads wiring and hardware not included with amplifier unregulated Class A/B power supply offers a massive increase in power at 2 ohms 22-9/16"W x 2-5/8"H x 10-1/4"D |
Re: Kicker 600.4 Amp?
You bridge the two channels for the subs then run subs 2 ohms. Other 2 channels can run 2 of the 6 1/2 on each of them. Not a problem sense amp is 2ohm stable. You will have to wire speakers a little different. The 2 6 1/2 that are at the back of boat will need to be wired to one output channel. The 2 6 1/2 in front of boat need to go to other output channel. You might have to use the left to right fade in order to fade front to rear. The 2 channels you are using for your 6 1/2 are true front output channels they will fade left to right. Your rewire job will allow them to be used for front to rear. I hope I did not lose you. The amp you have will do what you would like to.
Nice amp :D |
