The James River trip sounds neat, but a bit far. Besides, Ive seen the RPBA group party at the Miami Show, and they scare me.

We've been as far as Smithfield station in a 1999 Poker Run. The beach trip sounds nice, and Broad Bay and Waterside in Norfolk are always easy.

Since we haven't been down the ICW before, an "escort" on our way out of town Monday morning would be cool. Blake - what mile marker are you near? Maybe we can all stop by and show your parents what kind of people you're hanging out with on this board. Or maybe not.....

Im down on the intercoastal in the Currituck Sound near Coinjock Marina......let me know im pretty sure we will be down there, my parents will probably be up on the dock but if you come through there during or a little after lunch time chances are ill be out there on the jetskis.

Also as Reckless said, the "Cove" area is where alot of people hang out and pull up on the sand to swim and eat or whatever....

Hodads as he mentioned is a very good resturant also, and Captin Georges which is pretty close to our house too is fun to hang out at!!

Also on the intercoastal heading toward Coinjock, my dad said he thinks we are at channel marker 92, maybe if you come down that way you could stop by or something... let us know.

Excuse me, but I resemble that remark...

..and besides, Lee and I were the only ones from Richmond at the Miami show - the rest of that crowd wre HRPA!

Have a great time this weekend folks. I'll be on Kerr Lake. The first weekend in June I'll be on the Rappahannock River.

Damn Steve, did you have to put that ugly mug up? Was that a pic from Miami?? Looks familiar..... :D

Chuck, seems there is no concensus at this point for the HRPA. The 3 PQ's will most assuredly be ready to hook up and run somewhere. There will be several boats ovenighting in Hampton who we could meet up with. If you want to stay somewhat close, maybe a run over to the Tiki Bar on the Eastern Shore is the ticket if it is hot and sunny. The water there is fantastic. And the bottom is soft, clean sand sprinkled with the occassional sand dollar.

Well, at least the weather forecast looks reasonable at this point. Other than that, we're not too sure of our schedule, but here's my best bet:

Saturday, May 29:
Arrive Lynnhaven Inlet from the north: ~Noon - 1:00 PM
Tie up at entrance to Broad Bay (4th house on left - NOT our friends' house)
Settle in at our friends' house of off Broad Bay: 1:30 - 4:00 PM
Unknown (maybe cruise somewhere): 4:00 - 7:00 PM

Sunday, May 30:
Watch Indy 500: Until 3:00 PM
Unknown: 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Monday, May 31:
Depart Lynnhaven Inlet for Norfolk: 9:00 - 9:30 AM
Arrive Norfolk Waterfront: 9:45 - 10:15 AM
From there, we'll head down the ICW (Albemarle Canal)
We're thinking that we'll spend the night in Elizabeth City, Hertford, or Edenton. Any recommendations?

All plans and times are, of course, subject to approval by The Admiral. :o

Oh I know where your going, down by Elizibeth City, I hate to say it but your better off doing something else, there is not much to do on the boat around there or many good sites, I say go up by the "Cove" or Capt Georges area......But thats my opinion.

Ahhh.... Patience, Grasshopper - you forget that our long-term plan is to find some property to build on in 6-8 years. We're shopping from the Rappahanock in Virginia to the Neuse in North Carolina. Elizabeth City is but one of many, many stops we'll make on an epic journey over the next month or so.
