Trailer Brake Rqmts ?
 

Do tri-axle trailers require brakes on one or two axles? The shop doing the brake repair won't release it without signing a "waiver" since it only has brakes on one axle.

Some states require then on all axles. Not sure about MD but MA is two of the three.

nj requires every tire on the ground to have brakes.

Hi again Greg -

We just got flak from the hauler who brought our boat up from Florida because our Cig. trailer only has brakes on one of the triple axles (even though they are discs). In Maryland your trailer won't pass inspection with only one set of brakes.

Thanks. Guess I'm not being taken on adding the second set of brakes, it's getting to be an expensive repair for a trailer I'm just going to sell once it gets here.
