Here's a picture of Don and my dad (Charlie McCarthy) in 1976 in front of the Magnum factory the day that Don sold my dad the 24' Cigarette molds. Don owned both Cigarette and, he had bought back Magnum at this time. He rigged my dad's boat at Magnum. He also had my dad bring down his workers from the Banana boat plant in Rhode Island and they trained alongside the Cigarette workers to learn how to make these boats the "Cigarette way". My dad went on to use the molds to launch Banana Boat Co. - he raced a 24' Banana Boat to become the APBA Modified Champion in 1977 and raced a 38' Banana/Coyote/Sonic prototype in 1979 winning the first race of the year Bushmills, and then he became APBA Open class Rookie of the Year... My dad and Don had identical Camaros that were the street versions of the IROC race cars. Doc Magoon had one made later that was red and turbocharged.
