Default I can't get a F#@$'in break!!!!!!

I go to start motors this morning before I take the 45 min ride to the marina and port motor starts but tach is all over the place. Rev it over 3200 rpm and it breaks up and backfires through the exhaust. I take off dist cap and there is alot of condensation from all the heat and humidity. I grab the compressor and blow it all dry. Put it back together and motor barely turns over and won't start. Then batts start going dead. They are old so I run out and buy new batts. I put them in and same thing with port motor. So for ****s and giggles I start the other motor. It fires up but fuel pressure gauge is at 0, no pressure!. Engines dies. ****!!!!

I have had it. Anyone want to buy a 1990 31 Sonic that will do mid 90's? Just needs to be dialed in. Procharged 502's, balanced and blueprinted, dynoed @ 640hp. $50,000. $25,000 invested in upgrades in the past yr.

Ken....total bummer. Nothing worse that looking forward to a day of boating, getting on the boat, and nothing but probs. You've had a real tough year.

Sometimes when you big HP dudes blow by me like I'm standing still with my little 496HO I get all bummed out, but the nice thing is that reliability is not even an issue, starts and runs great every time, the only issue is speed. Oh well...good luck.

These motors were perfect last year! F@&%'in Typhoon Marine cooked both motors this spring. They did not finish the rebuild till the end of June. I have never seen such sloppy work! I am still finding loose clamps, wires all over the place, leaks, hoses rubbing on sharp edges, etc, etc. What really burns my ass is that ******* Andy will not return any of my calls. What great service! Can't wait till they sink to the bottom!

Ken, do you have MSD distributors on your boat? If you do rip them out and put in a Mallory or Crane. My Checkmate had same problem and after replacing the distributor it never happened again. I now have a procharged Fountain and have had a few hard starting issues which I think I have worked out. I sold the Checkmate after correcting everything so the new owner hase a worry free ride. Hope you get thing worked out.

Thanks Mate,

It is all Merc stuff. I will get everything right but not by any of these so called "marine specialists". I am tired of the arrogance, the attitude, the shotty work, and wasted money. My truck mechanic will tear these motors down in half the time and half the price and be done right the first time!!!

Too many people on this board are putting up with the marine rip off!!! Well I am done with it! All these big marinas, big power pushers, custome riggers, can all go scratch. Nothing but theives and whores!!!

Where's my Hickory???

Too old,

I run my business in a moral and ethical manor. I do not make the money others do in my field but I am proud of myself doing right by other people and not ripping them off. It actually feels good! I would rather have a big heart than a fat wallet.

you know whats bad about a lot of problems with these full service dealers are that the boat tech's are on commission, so they cut corners, and try to make the big hours each week, I am a auto Tech by trade, I work commission also, but I turn a quality job, if I piss off my customers, they won't come back, Ken that boat dealer will have it coming some day, hope all problems get worked out on your boat. Mark
