Re: $200/hr

I just sold a 2001 Yamaha GP1200R with big bore and triple pipe package. Best I ever saw was 80.1 on GPS.

Solid as a rock even WFO. That hull is friggin awesome. Stepped hull jet ski...gotta love it.

Here is a link to the fastest jet-ski in the world. 87.5 MPH. I saw this bad boy down AT Riva in Pompano...friggin schweeet! It's for sale too....40K last I saw.

Re: $200/hr

$40,000 is a little too pricey for a temperamental race gas PWC. I don't care if it holds the record or not..

My hull isn't a GPR hull. It's a GP hull. A bit smaller.

I've gotta get some baseline data together before I can clearly see my next course of action. There's supposed to be an 80mph GPR on my lake and I gotta get my butt spanked by him before I'll be doing anything drastic to my current platform.

I know I've got some free mph in my boat. The intake grate has not had any handwork done on it, and fits poorly with the hull and plate junction. It is heavily caulked up and doesn't cavitate at all so they got that part right. The ride plate is a ProTec (as is the grate) and appears to have been shimmed down for more wetted surface. There's speed to be found there.

The dang plastic trim tabs are still on the hull, so they'll be going away as well. Hull is scratched pretty good from many many beachings. The Magnum pump has the stock Yamaha pump nozzle with a parabolic Skat cone in it - either gotta go with a taper nozzle OR a Riva nozle matched to the parabolic cone - more speed to be found.

As I already stated, the prop is small and the sponsons are full down. I'll be squeezing a little time in here and there to be improving on it.

If I can hang with the "supposed 80mph" ski on the lake, I'll be less inclined to make many changes for now.

I rode it some more this afternoon. It's set up to hook in the chop and accelerate HARD. Given the state of hull tuning, I'm actually kind of impressed that it yanked off 75.0 so easily. Cheers.
