119...holy smokes thats fast!!! are you running that with or without hull mounted pickups? what kind of water pressure do you have at that speed. I think that's world record speeds for that setup isn't it? 118.somthing or so??

are you trimmed even or out or in a little


it's still f!#*&n in the 60's up there?.....90's and humid (and sunny) down here.

Ummm..... There are currently 4 of these (28 Skater 2x 300x's)in Joey Imprescia's shop..... Water pressure is not an issue with any of them except on one of my engines...and that one is lagging in WP from idle on up....so it is definitely not height related....probably a clog somewhere in the system....and we'll fix that before the next test runs. There are no hull mounted pickups......But the level of expertise in that shop is second to none (a world champion throttleman, and a bunch of old racer/builders hanging around)...... suffice it to say that speeds in the low 120's have been attained consistently with the other hulls...... and mine , as an ex race hull, will be at least as fast.....

I am hoping to post a really eye popping number by season's end....... However, as you noted hot, humid, speed robbing weather will be upon us very shortly..so it may have to wait for September....We are looking to put 18 hours on the motors (about 7 so far) before letting it all hang out...... and neither the weather (windy) nor my schedule has cooperated in accelerating that process.

I agree set up, set up, set up is key....... but break in, break in, break in.....is at least as important....for engine life, engine life, engine life.

have 1995 28 skater with canopies have always had 2.5 efi motors on the boat 123456 skater just put new bullets on #7#8 300x motors this time. I didn't know how this set up was going to work out. ran skater sunday 1st time new motors approx 90 @ 5000rpm break in mode. it wants to go i like the new power. running 14.5x 34 three blade lab. what prop and motor hieght is east coast marine/joey recommending? 4 blade ? met joey at skater factory around 1993 he's a pro. 116mph 119mph nice deal if i get 110 mph will be having fun !

Each boat has its own likes and dislikes...that's why individual testing is far more important than exchanged data...... You can determine the proper height the old fashioned way...... Try different settings..... Your boat with canopies will probably not like what mine needs. Look for at least 3 mph less.
and if you are indeed aiming for 110....34" is too much prop.

T2x So what do you figure is your gain? Seems like it may work out to be about 5mph over the 2.5s. I would think you are happy, and no bin of broken and spare parts.

What oil does everybody run and what mixture 40.1 ?

The 300x are oil injected. They take care of themself
