Mitch,

I checked my source and they list a 6K axle assembly. My cost is around 300.00 for electric brakes. It is around 210.00 for no brakes. Shipping is extra. What type of brakes do you have?? Do you want me to check stock for you??

Let me know,

Dave

Well, Mitch, the more axels that you get, the greater the scrub is.

Mitch has a Dexter drop axel. This axel is set up for traditional leaf springs and drum brakes. I believe they were 12" drums.

Here is a link to some info on your axel. http://i.b5z.net/i/u/1080235/f/5500_7222_lbs.pdf

Luckily Dexter is in Indiana. Try calling them direct and see if you can speed things along...http://www.dexteraxle.com/600_8000_lb__capacity

Spring Align is a great outfit. They have another shop close to me in Palatine on Rand rd. I once spent the better part of the day looking for new U-bolts for my dually when i was installing my 6" lift kit. An old timer at Napa told me to go check with them. They didnt happen to have the size i needed in stock so they bent a set up for me!!! And when i got them home i had made a mistake in measureing and had to go back for another set......they bent a new set up and gave them to me! no charge! said he could always use them on another truck later. :) Cant ask for better customer service. These guys were also the only ones around who could do an alignment on my Dually with the 35" tires too. No place i went to wanted to even try it! Your in good hands Mitch :)

Mitch, There a guy by me that builds custom trailers, the last time i needed some axles, it's been a few years, i went over there and he had about 30 of them stacked up in his shop. He buys a truck load at a time so he can get them cheaper and i know he goes to Elkhart when he buys them so they may be dexter axles(just a guess). If you want his number let me know and i can dig it up.
