Re: Who's Doing the Potomac River Poker Run?
I'm sorry I could not make the run. It was nice to see everyone at Gilligan's Pier though. Nice to meet Beak boater and their very NICE OL, and always great talking to Bill and Patti.
As usual, it seemed a little confused poker run with some of the boats at different stops and not in a "group"., but overall Tim did a great job with what he was dealt.
Lots of money on the river that day, but my favorite boat is beak boaters 37' OL and the rooster tail that boat leaves when it's running. Any pics?? sorry I did not have a camera on me.
Maybe next year, Brian (Monsoon) and a few of OSO'ers can put together an OSO Poker Run on the Potomac. It would sure bring back the good old days with 60-75 boats instead of the declining 25-50 boats each year.
It was a great day for a poker run, so I know someone has some more pics???

Re: Who's Doing the Potomac River Poker Run?
I am not sure yet, it was running great I was just cruising next to Beak Boater and about 3/4 of the way to the first stop I smelt oil and the power steering felt funny so I slowed down some to let it cool but I was only turning about 4-4500 rpm the whole way.
When I got to the No Wake zone I stopped and raised the hatch to see, and oil was f-ing every where it looks like the left rear Eng. either pushed the oil pan gasket out in the front or front main seal went bad but I lost 5-6 qt. of oil and it was a huge mess. I have about 90% of it clean now and am working on it to get it ready for this weekend.
Needless to say I was pissed and didn't feel like partying so I drove home on the other 2 and put it on the trailer so I could work on getting it clean.

It was a fun day! My dad got a few pics, I'll post them if any of them turn out. Bumpy ride in a 25' you know.
Sorry to hear about your troubles Greg. You didn't seem like you were in a very good mood in Goose Bay. Now I know why. Boat looks awesome!
Dreamboater/Beakboater, that OL sounded.... Real Good!
My only failure was the passenger bolster. The brackets for the pins that hold the bottom up bent outward a bit and caused the pins to back out. While heading to Cobb Island we were getting a little air and right after being passed by 43 Thunder, they let loose. I looked over and saw my dad sitting on the floor.
"Hey dad, better work a little harder on that Atkins....
Next time, we need to have someone in a car with a good camera to "Have a flat tire" on the hump of the 301 bridge and get some photos of all of us after leaving Gilligans.
