Re: CASH BAR goes racing.....and WINS.!!
I celebrated by driving my car from Marathon to Palm Beach almost as fast as I went in the boat. I had to get to my Dad's 59th B-Day party tonight.
I didn't really expect to win so I thought I would get here in plenty of time.

I was gonna drop some hints, but kept my mouth shut...
NICE JOB MAN!....
So, I would assume there are more races in the future with you two?

Allen's normal driver may be back for Sarasota so I'm not sure. The other guys in SS class thought I would probably get other offers though. Who knows?
Like I said, maybe I should RETIRE UNDEFEATED !!

Congrads!!
Allan's a great guy. Hope to see you in Sarasota.
Believe me, you will race again. You can't just do it once!

It Is not even 5 Am and i cant sleep i am reading OSO and i find this thread
Maybe it is cause i am tired or maybe just i am an idiot or both but am I the only one that sees a problem with this or do I not have enough of the facts ????
First off let me say that this is not meant as an attack on Cash Bar I am sure you are a competent guy behind the wheel of your cig but this is in my opinion is why offshore racing cant come off as a professional organization and wont until this type of thing changes
Cash Bar if i am missing something here please let me know and i will stand corrected
By your post it seems to me that you have had little or no experience in a cat (is this true or have you been running cats ) Second you have never raced with this guy (have you been out in his boat before) third if you have been out in his boat was it for purposes of testing and working the boat together ??
I am hoping he asked you to drive because you have run his boat with him before not just cause he need someone in the other seat and he liked you
My personal feeling is that NO ONE should be able to come off the street and race a car, motorcycle, or BOAT with out training and testing and certainly should work their way thru the classes in order to run with the big dogs (no i dont think the guys with the money should start out in Super cat either )
I for one would not want to race if i knew someone that was on the course with me jsut got a call to jump in and go
This kind of thing does not happen in professional car racing, or motorcycle, or snowmobile, or any "Professional Motor sport"
only offshore racing can you jump in and get on the course and i think that is ridiculous
Cash Bar sounds like you had a great time and i hope you don't take this post as a cut on you cause it is not
just an early morning concern and my .02
