Default RC Offshore Boat owners

How big is your boat and how fast can you run in real offshore conditions (3-4's at least). Anyone make some 10' or so hulls? Anything that can run 60-70 in those conditions?

mbwi - I got in touch with their head of R&D, however out application was too small a program for them to be interested.

Bigyellowcat - I'd like to see what you have built, if you have some info you can send it to my e-mail [email protected]. "Ideal" would be less than 10' long, run 50-60, and be electric powered (gasoline isn't allowed in my application).

Thanks - Greg

Tyson,
Did you build your own step bottom 26' or 27' boat a few years ago?

Smile Re: RC Offshore Boat owners

I am selling my new RC Grand Sport 55" deep vee. Highly detailed – large scale radio controlled offshore powerboat. The size of the boat is 55 inches long and 15 inches wide. Speeds up to 40 mph with stock motor and 75 mph with HP motor. Has stepped hull, notched transom and rub rail. I have added back rails, new gas tank, flex cable and steel flex cable tube. The flex cable tube is fiber glassed into the hull with a water tight cable seal. I have installed waterproof black vinyl (nice leather style) to entire inside of boat and automotive semi gloss white paint on out side with professional spray equipment. It’s all ready for you to install your hardware and head for the water. I started building the boat, but I do not have enough free time to finish, I am selling the boat for the price I purchased it for; Price: $ 288.00. The completed Grand Sport-DV–55 boat sells for $1595.00 on website “http://grandsportrc.safeshopper.com/”. I also do custom air brushing and can match any boat graphics if you need a nice paint job. If you are interested you can e-mail me at [email protected]. I have pictures.

Gas > Electric.

With what your trying to do, hope you have a good charger, you might get 5-6 min of runtime. Buy a weed whacker, and use the engine off of it. Will be better off. I used to be into electric, had 2 fun boats, one flat out race 22 Enforcer, 4 turn Quad wind, 3000mah with 8 cells, can we say chine walk. Only got 4 min out of it.

Now have a gas boat, Ill run it for 1/2 hour, bring it in, more gas, then back out she goes.

I used to have an old MRP 41" Fountain. It had twin electric astroflight cobalt motors and would run 46-MPH according to the speedo of my old bowrider. It caught fire and was burned beyone repair. At that point I thought RC boats were too expensive so I decided to save money by sticking to real boats.
