I work with this guy's next door neighbor. I haven't got any of the details (because he hasn't seen his neighbor since last weekend when this happened), but I'll keep you posted. According to the guy I work with, the boat was only a couple months old (at least for this owner), so the conclusion could be made there may have been an experience issue.

I've seen (and met) boaters who are capable of rolling a 42 Grand Banks.
There certainly is nothing wrong with the Active Thunder hulls, stepped or not. This is clearly a speed vs. turn vs. trim issue, where any hull in the hands of an inexperienced driver could possibly have a serious inicident/accident. Add in the possibility of alcohol, and you have a news story waiting to happen.
I wish all those involved a speedy recovery. They are truly lucky folks.......

I worry about insurance rates, and how high they keep climbing. And lastly, too many accidents this year due to neglect, we definately do not need big brother regulating something that we all enjoy to do. Jeff Jassby

I COMPLETELY AGREE with your statement. I also think that we ned to remember that all boats are different (characteristics, handling, etc...) but it is usually driver error. We have to also remember that water is constantly changing, and you can be the best/most experienced driver and still have an accident.
