If you call your ins co ask them for a boat ins application. Fill it out attach pics of boat ( NOT ONES WITH ROOSTER TAILS) .
MAJOR POINT. When asked about HULL POWER RATING. Be truthful. and reasonable. This could mean you getting ins. or not.
ex. 30 Spectre Hull rated 1200+ hp I said 800. W/ 2 x 300's boat had 600hp....They are happy.
Also....FLAT REPLACMENT COST. This is where you have to be realistic on Value. if you paid too much for your boat be honest with yourself and bite the bullet on replacment costs.
Big cats , Stepped bottem V's with big power are going to be tough.
Question: While We ALL want to watch Reggie and Mike battle it out in a speed run this week.............With insurance being so tough now, Is this the smartest time to be doing this race.

I think you slipped between the cracks with the underwriters. Any time speed of the boat is brought up, over 70 they won't insure. Any hull over 20' does not have a hp rating. There are no limits/ratings on hp for your 30' boat. I have owned 5 cats over the years and if you are truthful the "major ins co" will not insure. Not truthful, no claims paid. Blast away at me saying I am wrong..... I am not.

Re: Skater insurance
Cats are very expensive to insure. I know that Allstate is doing its special promotion again on there coverage for performance boats and it is a great deal. V-hull, all they want to know is the horsepower. They do not ask the speed. According to our local agent they are in the "don't ask speed mode"
This happened last year when I insured my V-hull and saved a ton of money.
Ask your agent. If they are good they can find this information.
