sharkeymarine,
I posted a video of the run in another thread, you can see both runs if you haven't already.
Cam is shaky though thanks to my fiance recording, but you can still make it out.

Re: did anyone on OSO actually SEE the fountain make a run?
The ABPA/UIM records set at Washington NC this past weekend are official (as were all of them that have been announced), the timing equipment, and backup systems, our chief timers Russ and Carol Dodge, our on site referee David Thopmson and his staff confirmed the 2 way runs, and the appropriate certifications are on their way to APBA Detroit hdqtrs and from there to UIM to certify them as world records.
While Reggie and Benny ran exceptionally quick, the other class records (A, Super Vee, Super Cat Lite, etc) are significant accomplishments and congratulations go out to every team that established a new record and to all of those who tried and just missed. The fact that you tried is proof enough of your commitment to compete without excuse.

Mr David, there is some talk on scales being off and not calibrated. What is your look in this? Thanks

Dave, it is "talk" as you noted. The scales and timing equipment are calibrated before an event and become the scales of the day. What usually happens is someone thinks they are off because the official scales don't align with the doubters belief. Russ and Carol and I have been involved with KILOS since the early 70's. We've used each of the various timing equipment set ups, from digital to Keikhaefer. We've run the timers/scanners ourselves. There are mechanical backups for the timing equipment to provide redundancy. We all take the process very seriously.
In our case, anyone is welcome to contract Jeff Titus, Sally Titus (Lake Placid FL) , Jim Appley (St Pete), Skip Gilliam (Miami) , Billy Tetro, Frank Tetro,(Cocoa Beach) Jon Nuta (Miami), Gary Garbrecht (Lake Hamilton FL) , Dick O'Dea (NJ), Ted Jones (Stuart FL), Bill Bibee (Virginia), Frank Smith, Ron Smith (Lake Hopatcong NJ) , Andy Coker (Palm Beach), Bob Herring (Seattle), Bob Wartinger (Seattle) Alan Vordermeier (Ft Laud) Dick Delsener (Detroit) and anyone else ever involved with our KILO's. Each of these people were intimately involved in either the set up, timing, competing or officiating of APBA KILO events. Ask them anything you wish.
Thanks for your question Dave, and thanks as well for volunterering at the Milwaukee race!

Re: did anyone on OSO actually SEE the fountain make a run?
Why are there so many skeptics. Everyone was there, SBI, APBA/UIM, thousands of spectators, more cameras than a John Kerry speech and yet the skeptics still exist. So I have only one question, where were you?
