Re: Will a Avalanche Tow a****

If he values his family ,due 2 things ...

Don't let them ride in the vehicle with him ,

And leave them a good life insurance policy !

OH, and pray it's not your family he kills when he does crash .....

The insurance companies used to call us out to all the local trailer wrecks to help them figure out what happened . BUt, we all do stupid things !

Re: Will a Avalanche Tow a****

The first guy that tried to buy Monsoon from ToddW said he was going to tow it with his H2. Todd told him he would need more truck, and the guy never called back.

Re: Will a Avalanche Tow a****

Just think if he tried to panic stop on wet pavement

At 18k that would be around 1800 pds of tunge weight .I know the truck would have enough power. I am sure he will get a slip here but He is wanting to trailer to the Destin FL 285 miles sometimes.I am trying to talk him into at least a used Ford F350.I bet the DOT guys would stop him if they saw him pulling it.I could see if he just used it to just got to the lake here but I think it would be dangerous any further .

Don't even mention the word boat
Re: Will a Avalanche Tow a****

Straight up, it will pull it but he can forget about stopping if anything happens. Also everyone is right if something happens the insurance company will not cover it.

Re: Will a Avalanche Tow a****

I don't know if I would feel comfortable pulling that much weight with my 2500 HD diesel. Like others have said stopping the thing will be the problem. A class 5 hitch is only rated to 12k, so he is over the max hitch rating as well.

If it were me I would be using a freightliner with a goosneck trailer.
