just posted under the new cig post but why are all the major manufacturers coming out with 39v's. nortech cig baja, skater velocity, ol, kachina, dragon, etc, these boats are all awesome boats that can run around 90 with merc 525's but are all way over the budgets of 99% of buyers. why cant someone produce a boat in that range for 250K or so. these boats at 350k to 450k requires over 5,000 a month for payment insurance dock hoist mainteneance gas, etc. that a ton of money for a recreational item. then add power as everyone wants and prices go way up from there. Is there really that big of a boating market in this price range. the manufacturers must think so. just an opinion. comments???

They are probably over budgeted because ther is not such a huge demand for them. They want to sell just enough to fill the demand. There are not that many more buyers at 250k then at 350k. if 3x as many people would buy it for 100k less, then they would price it that way, but i doubt thats the case.
I was also wondering why all these builders chose to buld a new 39 all around the same time. i personally tihnk its a great size and wish i coudl afford one. maybe they all read the same market research report sayign the same thing.

Plus with using 525's to go 90 plus, they dont have to spend so omuch on big hp engines and can probably keep more of the profit for themselves, and make the boat more appealing to the non-mechanical buyers who dont want to worry about rebuilding 900's

It's called Penis Envy. We started this entire 39' craze. It's too bad no one else in the industry can come up with a original idea. Fancy colors, too many gauges, too many steps, too many deaths from ill handling flipping hull designs. Why not buy a real, well built, state of the art SAFE, TURNING, offshore boat?????????????????????????????????????????????/

Try selling more T-Shirts; You obviously cant come up with original boat designs.

We stopped building our 38 a few years ago because we have been very busy with all of our other models. Now that we have a much larger facility we have room for another model. We also thought that it would be appropriate something totally new. We wanted a real 38' hull before any swim platform. The reality is that it's almost 40' overall.

O.K. guys it is great to see some good posts up here. I think another reason a lot on companies moves to the 39' number is for possible racing. the max length is 39' feet for factory II class and Super "v".
