For 2 orange Lifeline Jackets, and 2 orange helmets, "lost" in Coco Beach, May 17, 1992.
Helmets say "Allez Vite" and "78" on the back, and have intercoms.
Allez Vite suffered a broken fuel-line during the OPT race on that day, resulting in an explosion in the harbor. The three crew were thrown into the water, where they were picked by 2 spectator boats.
The helmets and jackets were left in the rescue boats when we were transfered to ambulances. One helmet and jack were later dropped off at the Cape Canaveral hospital by a Good Samaritan, but the other 2 have not been seen since.
As these items are more than 10 years old, they probably have little practical value today, but they have sentimental value to us.
We don't care how they became lost, but would love to get them back, no questions asked.
Please send me a PM if you can provide any information.

These were lost 10 years ago???
Just making sure I am reading this right!
Yes, actually 12 years ago.
But I wouldn't say "lost."
Just hoped they might be "floating around" out there.
Actually, there was a "reward request" immediately after the incident, but we were all in the hospital and unable to respond.
Although, I expect we would have said "Go f*** yourself."
But time heals all wounds, they say.
Star Chaser in progress....
Missing helmets and jackets ... hmmmm ... Where's Sherman ???
On a serious note ... good luck Pete ... those would be nice to have back ... Thats stuffs probably in someones basement collecting dust ... and I bet has served some duty as a halloween costume at least once by now !?!?!?
Hope ya find em ....
